Specifications
Editing M2T files The Datavideo DN-300, 400, 500 recorders, the HDR-40, 50, 100 and 200 recorders and the HRS-10 and HRS-10HD recorders are all FAT32 based with an approximate 2GB file limit and can all record M2T files. There can't be clips longer than 2GB, resulting in multiple files per track. Also, the Open GOP structure of the 1080 stream requires information that is contained in these multiple files to have a contiguous video / audio file. Because of the nature of Open GOP compression, some NLE systems (such as Final Cut Pro) may not combine the M2T files when imported, so this needs to be done prior to import. Datavideo provides a utility called M2T_FileCombine Mac version (285KB) or Windows version (11KB) to combine the M2T files for you. Once your videos are converted, you can then import and view the files on Final Cut Pro. Recommended hard drives Datavideo recommend using a 2.5SATA hard drive with 7200rpmand a8MB buffer. Seagate Hard drives are not recommended for use with the DN-400, DN-500, HDR-100 and HDR-200 recorders. The following are HDD that the manufacturer has successfully tested and are therefore recommended.
