Fast Forward MDVRPCF MiniDVR Pro CF Portable Video Recorder with Compact Flash

Using integrated Motion JPEG, the Mini DVR Pro provides scalable compression with high quality video inputs and outputs to maximise image quality at an outstanding 720x576 PAL 720x480 NTSC video resolution. The MiniDVR Pro is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, slip into a pocket or hang on a belt. The Mini DVR Pro CF is configured with two compact flash slots for easy removal and transfer of media. The CF model is shockproof and ranges in capacity from 1GB to 32GB.

M-JPEG Compression

The M-JPEG compression ratio setting on all Fast Forward Video products are user selectable from 4:1 to 20:1. In practice, it is advisable to set the compression to correspond with the best quality to storage ratio. A setting of 7:1 is a good setting for general purpose Betacam images, 10:1 for S-VHS, 15:1 for VHS. The rule of thumb for minutes of storage generally available is compression ratio is roughly equivalent to minutes per gigabyte. For example: 10:1 compression ratio x 80 gigabytes = 10 x 80 = roughly 800 minutes recording time, or approximately 12 hours.
