For video recordings on the move, Stack�_ miniature Solid-State Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) provide the optimum solution and are specifically designed for use in harsh environments. Stack recorders employ broadcast standard MPEG-2 video compression to record real-time video and audio direct to a Compact Flash (CF) card. The card can be removed with ease and played on a PC or laptop using a standard media player application.

The Stack DVR2-240 recorder incorporates a 4 input video multiplexer to allow any format of 1 to 4 cameras on one screen, with fully programmable scaling, crop and positioning. Stack�_ DVR2-200 offers professional performance even under the most difficult conditions including wet and / or high vibration environments.

The DVR2-240 is waterproofed and boasts an extended operating temperature range of 0��C to 70��C. The DVR2-240 also offers 8 x recording bit rate (1 Mbps minimum up to 12 Mbps maximum) and 11 to 140 minutes per gigabyte. Up to 18 hours of DVD quality (Composite) video can be recorded on a single 32GB CF card.

As well as the conventional record mode, the DVR2 range also provides a continuous loop record mode, whereby once the CF card becomes full, the DVR continues recording, overwriting the oldest recordings. The DVR2 range also include an ��vent Recording��mode, to enable specific externally triggered events to be recorded, with user selectable pre-trigger and post-trigger periods.

Note
Stack recorders can be connected to a PC over USB and then put into card reader mode, so that MPEG2 files on the CF card can then be played back in a media player on the PC (whilst the CF card is still in the DVR).

The minimum standard CF Cards used in these recorders must be UDMA4 cards formatted in FAT32 with minimum write speeds of 25MB/s and operating temperatures of -25C to +85C.
Harsh Environment industrial grade CF cards which are ruggedised and have operating temperatures of -40C TO +85c and minimum write speeds of 35MB/s are available and these are required and specified for harsh and difficult environments.
The environmental specifications of the systems are a combination of the recorder and the specification of the CF cards used.

Recorders ST9381 DVR2-100 is supplied with a 16GB standard CF card and all others are supplied with a standard 32 GB CF card. These are the maximum sized cards for the respective recorders.
