Stack DVR2-540 32GB Video System - Four Channel RecorderFor video recordings on the move, Stack�_ miniature Solid-State Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) provide the optimum solution and are specifically designed for use in harsh environments. Stack recorders employ broadcast standard MPEG-2 video compression to record real-time video and audio direct to a Compact Flash (CF) card. The card can be removed with ease and played on a PC or laptop using a standard media player application. The DVR2-540 has all the features of the DVR2-500 with the addition of an on--board 4 input video multiplexer to allow any format of 1 to 4 cameras (composite PAL or NTSC) to be recorded simultaneously with programmable scaling, crop and positioning of each picture. Stack�_ DVR2-540 offers professional performance even under the most difficult conditions including wet and / or high vibration environments. The unit is fully waterproof and boasts an extended operating temperature range of 0��C to 70��C. The DVR2-540 has 10 x selectable fixed bit-rates (1 to 20 Mbps) and Variable Bit-Rate (VBR) that can achieve bit-rates in excess of 30Mbps, even up to 50Mbps - dependent on image content. This matches the maximum bit-rate of Blu-Ray (in comparison, a DVD's maximum bit-rate is 9.8Mbps) The higher bit-rate not only gives sharper pictures and more vivid colours but is better capable of capturing fast-moving content such as sport without introducing compression artefacts. An option on the DVR2-540 is Intra-frame (I-frame) only record mode - a great benefit to video professionals using a non-linear editing system such as Avid or Final Cut Pro. Designed with mobility and ruggedness in mind, Stack's DVRs for video professionals even under the most extreme conditions. The DVR2-500 & DVR2-540 capture video and audio that is equivalent or better than DV tape but is immune to the susceptibility of non solid-state devices to shock, vibration and temperature. The DVR2-540 offers 10 Fixed (1 Mbps Min. 20 Mbps Max.) + Variable Bit Rate (6 Quality levels up to 50 Mbps peak) 3-140 Mins/Gbyte. As well as the conventional record mode, the DVR2 range also provides a continuous loop record mode, whereby once the CF card becomes full, the DVR continues recording, overwriting the oldest recordings. The DVR2 range also include an ��vent Recording��mode, to enable specific externally triggered events to be recorded, with user selectable pre-trigger and post-trigger periods. The minimum standard CF Cards used in these recorders must be UDMA4 cards formatted in FAT32 with minimum write speeds of 25MB/s and operating temperatures of -25C to +85C.
